Pepe Research was founded in October 2012, based on an idea by Paola Merulla and Elena Salvi and their over twenty years of experience in the field.

The founding partners have shared much of their professional experience: from their early days at the Higher Institute of Sociology and in within academia, to their long experience at ISPO, the institute founded by Professor Mannheimer, where they held managerial roles for years.

Paola Merulla
Partner at Pepe Research, she has over 25 years of experience in political studies and opinion polling. She has conducted research for the leading national media outlets (Corriere della Sera, Rai, RTL…) and for the country’s major institutions (the Office of the Prime Minister, the Office of the President of the Republic, Regional Presidents, political parties…).
She has frequently directed strategic research for major corporate clients (SEAT-Pagine Gialle, AC Milan, LA7, AMA Roma…), in large-scale retail (e.g., Coop Lombardia, Esselunga, Il Gigante, MD…), Food (Deliziosa, Caffè Motta…), and in the non-profit sector (Fondazione Cariplo, AIRC, Punto Sud, Fondazione Archè…).
An expert in statistics with particular attention to defining rigorous methodological plans, she has supported companies and institutions for years in shaping their strategies.
Elena Salvi
Elena Salvi, partner at Pepe Research, has over twenty years of experience in strategic and marketing research across many sectors: finance (for Banca Farmafactoring, Intesa SanPaolo, Carta Sì…), trade associations (Assografici, Confindustria…), the Energy and Utilities sector (Enel, ENI, Sorgenia, Anigas, Cidiu, LGH, Comieco…), Health (Cergas Bocconi, Helsinn, Novartis, ALK, NTC…) and IT (SAP, Intel, The Innovation Group…). She has solid experience in reputation, image, customer satisfaction and experience studies, as well as in all areas of marketing research.
With a long-standing interest in social marketing studies, she helps companies respond to the changes taking place in society.
